The Humanistic Federation of Chivalry has agreed on self-regulation rules for the admission of new orders of chivalry:
- The order of chivalry accepts the right of any man and woman with a noble attitude to follow the knightly ideal.
- The order of chivalry accepts the Human Rights of the United Nations and the principles of Liberty, Equality (before the law) and Fraternity.
- The order of chivalry follows humanistic goals, especially the knightly ideal. The humanistic ideals are expressed in the order´s rules.
- The order of chivalry advocates the common welfare through the professional or voluntary engagement of it´s members in the areas of defense, civil protection, fire service, emergency medical service, religion, philosophy, science, education, politics, peace restoration, preservation of knightly traditions, arts or charity.
- The order of chivalry does not follow totalitarian and intolerant goals. The purpose of the OoC is not the occupation and the subjugation of foreign territories.
- The order of chivalry is committed that they will never participate in war crime and crime against humanity, but to behave knightly even on the battle field.
- The order of chivalry is committed to an ethical behavior and to apply the their country´s law if they do not break the Human Rights.
- The order of chivalry does not follow commercial or dubious goals that could raise doubts of their seriousness and knightly ideal.
- The order of chivalry follows the principle of truthfulness and does not pretend something what is not the case. The carrying and the awarding of false titles of nobility is disliked and not practiced.
- The order of chivalry is committed to accept and to tolerate all orders of chivalry and knights which are accredited by the HFOC, without the obligation to negate the differences between the affiliated orders. In case of doubts about the legitimation of a order of chivalry or knight, the case is brought forward to the Arbitration Court and it is not discharged in public.
- The order of chivalry and the individual are obliged to deliver completely all relevant information which are necessary for an appropriate accreditation, like rules, constitutions, verification of nobility, documents that prove the authorisation through the church and memberships in orders of chivalry.
